Participatory Bodies for Stakeholder Engagement

Marmara University approaches each individual equally and adopts a democratic process. In this context, it encourages the participation of local stakeholders in decision-making processes at the university. Thus, it attaches importance to social responsibility, participation, democratic approach, and the value of different ideas. In addition, Marmara University supports the participation of society, local people, local governments, and civil society representatives in the processes and has implemented various mechanisms to increase this support. In this context, Marmara University has even demonstrated the importance it attaches to this process by establishing different units within its body. In particular, it organizes workshops, activities, events, seminars, and meetings to receive the ideas, opinions, and thoughts of local stakeholders. These activities also play an important role in the decision-making process of Marmara University.

Marmara University has established many units in decision-making processes. These units primarily value the ideas of local people, local government and civil society representatives. In addition, the Civil Society Organizations Application and Research Center (STKAM) was established within the University in order to ensure the effective and efficient participation of civil society representatives (which may include groups such as refugee resettlement agencies) in the decision-making processes of Marmara University. Marmara University Civil Society Organizations Application and Research Center (STKAM), aware of this reality, is an institution whose main purpose is to produce information on civil society and civil society organizations in our country and to train qualified human resources that the public, private and civil society sectors will need.
