Marmara University conducts various policy-oriented research in collaboration with government deparments. Our university leverages academic knowledge and research in partnership with relevant state institutions to contribute to public policies and address social issues. Additionally, many of our academics provide consulting services and collaborate on projects with government offices and public institutions. These efforts primarily focus on fields such as social sciences, economics, law, environmental studies, and public administration.

A-NEST Academic European Union Studies Turkey Network
A-NEST (Academic Network for EU Studies in Turkey) is a platform established in 2019 to promote collaboration among scholars in Turkey focusing on European Union studies. Supported by the EU Delegation to Turkey, A-NEST organizes academic research activities, conferences, seminars, and workshops, creating a communication network for topics such as EU-Turkey relations, integration processes, migration, sociology, and international relations.
Marmara University plays an active role in A-NEST as a significant member of the network. The university's academic contributions extend beyond theoretical studies, allowing for the development of policy recommendations that can influence state policies. Academics from Marmara University provide valuable data and analyses through their research, aiding in the formulation of public policies related to the EU's approach to Turkey. Foreign Language and Health Tourism Training Protocol Signed Between Marmara University and the Ministry of Trade
Marmara University and the General Directorate of International Service Trade of the Ministry of Trade signed the “Foreign Language and Health Tourism Training Protocol” on April 20, 2022. This collaboration encompasses a certificate program aimed at improving the foreign language competencies and sector-specific professional skills of personnel working in the health tourism sector. The program aims to provide participants not only with essential knowledge in the health field but also with training that supports processes such as insurance, marketing, travel management, patient relations, and communication, thereby enhancing the quality of the workforce in the sector.

Marmara University “PROHEART-AI” Project
Marmara University’s “PROHEART-AI” project is a significant initiative aimed at the early detection of heart failure using artificial intelligence and wearable technology. Supported by AstraZeneca Turkey, the project seeks to develop early diagnosis and treatment methods for heart failure, which is one of the most prevalent health issues both in Turkey and worldwide. It will be implemented through a multidisciplinary approach, collaborating the Faculty of Medicine and the Faculty of Engineering at Marmara University. Biological data collected via wearable devices will be analyzed using artificial intelligence-supported algorithms, enabling more effective monitoring of patients' health and early detection of potential deteriorations.
