Healthy Living Facilities at Marmara University

At the Göztepe Campus, there are three cultural centers: the Dr. İbrahim Üzümcü Conference Hall (224-seat capacity), the Institute Building Conference Hall (142-seat capacity), and the 125th Anniversary Amphitheater (open amphitheater with a seating capacity of 483). Additionally, at the Sultanahmet Campus, there is the Ord. Prof. Dr. Nihat Sayar Conference Hall (200-seat capacity).

The Şehit Ömer Halisdemir Sports Hall at the Göztepe Campus includes a basketball-volleyball court with a seating capacity of 643, a fitness room, and a table tennis room. There is also an astroturf field and an outdoor basketball-volleyball court.

At the Mehmet Genç Complex, we have a fitness room.

On weekends, free cultural and sports activities are offered to our students. The sports hall at the Göztepe Campus is available for various sports activities for both students and staff. Traditional Rector's Cup Tournaments are held, including:

Marmara University's Sports Success

The medal rankings were determined as a result of the sports competitions organized by the Turkish University Sports Federation (TÜSF) for the 2023-2024 term. Marmara University came first in the tournaments in which 161 universities participated, with a total of 83 medals, 25 gold, 39 silver, and 19 bronze.

Indoor Swimming Pool

Our swimming pool in Anadoluhisarı Campus is used for training and applications of water sports such as swimming, water polo, underwater lifesaving, monofin, canoeing, water ballet, etc. This unit has various classrooms, cafeteria and facilities where training and applications of combat sports can be carried out, along with a VIP hall.

 

Gymnastics Hall

This hall in Anadoluhisarı Campus is used for gymnastics lessons (rhythmic gymnastics, artistic gymnastics, rhythm training and dance, show gymnastics, game-music-dance) as well as combat sports.

 

Large Football Field and Tartan Athletics Track

This synthetic grass covered football field has a 100x50 m. 3000-person tribune. This facility also has a 6-lane tartan athletics track, and there are changing rooms and classrooms under the stands.

 

Renovation of Outdoor Sports Facilities in Göztepe Campus Completed

The floors of the football, volleyball and basketball courts in Göztepe Campus have been renewed.The wire fences around the field were replaced. Painting work in the indoor gym has been completed. Due to the demolition of the training hall, curtain walls were built on the lower floor of the indoor sports hall.

 

Open Sports Facilities were Built for Recep Tayyip Erdoğan Complex

Within the scope of the "Recep Tayyip Erdoğan Complex Open Sports Facilities Construction Work", 1 astroturf field, 1 tennis court, 2 basketball/volleyball courts were built. Also in the locker room building; The administrative office, men's and women's locker room, disabled toilet, cafeteria, technical volumes and an open car park for 140 vehicles were completed and put into service.

Tennis Courts

In addition to the education and training provided in tennis branches, our two outdoor and one indoor tennis courts provide students and faculty with the opportunity to play tennis.
