Marmara University Smoke-Free Campus Directive

Taking into consideration the law on the Prevention and Control of Harms of Tobacco Products published in the Official Gazette dated 26.11.1996 and numbered 22829 and updated with various additions to date, and the Circular No. 86696344/01/06 on Tobacco Control Practices of the Presidency of the Turkish Public Health Agency of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Turkey, NON-SMOKING AREAS have been created in the areas in front of our University Library, Student Affairs Department, Şehit Ömer Halisdemir Sports Hall, Campus Student Dining Hall and the Faculty of Business Administration for a healthy life on the Campus. It is kindly requested that all academic and administrative staff and students show the necessary sensitivity regarding the prohibition of smoking in these areas.
